DEFENDING RAVEN SUSAN STOKER
It’s been ten years since Rex’s wife, Raven, disappeared from a Vegas casino. Never losing hope, he even formed the Mountain Mercenaries to help find her—and other missing wives, sisters, and children. Now Rex and his fearless team are following a lead to Lima, Peru, where the rescue operation is greater than they imagined.
A day at a time. That’s been Raven’s motto for a decade. Once held captive by an elusive sex trafficker, she has an indomitable will to survive. But Raven’s not ready to leave Peru. She can’t. Not yet. Because her liberation from the barrios comes with devastating consequences. One wrong move and all hope will be lost to an unimaginable hell.
For the Mountain Mercenaries, the stakes have been raised. The threats are escalating. But Rex hasn’t searched this long, risked so much, and come this far to lose Raven all over again.
PAT'S REVIEW
The last book in the series and opens with Rex explaining to the team who he put it together and the reason why as well. He also tells them the story of when his wife went missing in Vegas and how he began searching and got nowhere first with the Vegas P.D. then with other people when he finally realized that she was gone. He decided then that he would start searching for lost and kidnapped women and children but now he wants to go to Peru and find her. You also see the other side from when Raven was taken and then her journey to Peru then into the hands of a sex trafficker. Her emotional and physical break down of doing things she never wanted to do but forced herself in order to survive. The reason why she is not in that place anymore. What you find out is surprising What she finds out is that she does not want to leave and as much as she keeps telling Rex he does not listen he stays still wanting her and when finding out her secret he even surprises her then as well for he is in love with this woman. The book is intense and has moments where you can’t believe yet I do and at the end, you not only get the revenge you want but also the setup for the author's next series. Overall a very good book, just sorry to see these characters leave. I got this book from Amazon. Follow us at www.1rad-readerreviews.com |
