WAITING ON A COWBOY JENNIFER RYAN
Tate McGrath just didn’t get it. Why was Liz Scott, his best friend—and the person he relied on and trusted most—suddenly avoiding him! When he finally tracks her down, he finds her with a man he knows nothing about and she’s been dating for weeks. Suddenly, he can’t make himself ignore her tempting curves and deep green eyes, and all he wants to do is keep her all to himself. What was going on? Could he possibly be…jealous?
Liz had made the decision: stop carrying a torch for Tate and find a guy who wants to be her everything. Tate had always seen her as honest, dependable, smart, kind…Best friend, not girlfriend! And she needed to give up the dream of marrying the man she’d loved since preschool and move on.
But when Liz’s boyfriend turns dangerous, Tate steps up to help and soon realizes he’s the cowboy hero she’s been waiting for him to be all along.
PAT'S REVIEW
This story opens with two young kids in kindergarten sharing lunch and Liz Scott telling Tate McGrath that when they grow up, she is going to marry him, he says Nah Hua. Now growing up together and being there for each other she is tired of pining over the guy that does not see her. When he does not bring her to his brother's wedding as his plus one, she decides it is time to move on especially now when he has been gone for weeks and has not contacted her about what is going on with him in his life. He has come back to town after being away for about three weeks and he is shocked when his friend lizard is with someone else and that someone does not want her talking to him and though she speaks to him briefly he leaves the bar not touching his beer. His brother tries to explain to him that Liz wants a marriage, family a future and that is not what you want so you need to be the friend you say you are and back away for her and let her have her time. This is when everything begins to crash around him and he decides to go to her and explain things to her. This though takes a few days. She is in the beginnings of breaking up with her boyfriend Clint but he does not want her or them to be apart. This becomes the second part of the story, Clint taking a mind control game to her and the other women he has dated in the past. Even after Tate and Liz start to date Clint really becomes an evil person and probably was all along. The story is really good, the characters are really good and the way Clint acts might set off some people if they have gone through similar situations. Those that described I know go on and I do hope women find a way to leave. Overall a very good book. I received this book from Netgalley.com I gave it 5 stars.
