Maggie: Ten years ago, Cash Armstrong stole my heart. Then he promptly joined the army—dragging my best friend with him—and left me crying on the front porch in a red sequined prom dress. Now he's back. They're both back. Cash, the one who still has my heart. And Luc, the one who saved my life.
Cash: How do you know if you’re at the end of the beginning or the beginning of the end? That's what I've been trying to figure out since a traumatic brain injury made me "unfit to serve." I'm back in New Orleans, and picking up the shattered pieces of my past means I must confront where my life's journey began... and where it all might end.
Luc: Long ago, Maggie May was mine. Not mine in the way you might think. She was mine because she was my only friend. Then Cash came along and we became brothers by something stronger than blood. We became brothers by choice. When tragedy struck, I was forced to make a decision that changed all our lives. I thought, after ten years, it was safe to come back home. I was wrong...
MY REVIEW:
All I can say about this
story is WOW! This is a love story to the moon and so beyond. This is not just simply between a man and a
woman, no to easy. Nor as simple as two
men loving one woman… not even close.
No, this is a story of a man loving his friends and they love him
through all his memories and so much more.
This is a story that if
you can handpick your family that is this trio.
Now, Luc and Maggie met at fourteen and became fast friends just after
she lost her parents in the hurricane. During a time when no one else could
connect with her and her family was getting worried. This kind and gentle soul with an all-around
kind heart was there for her.
At sixteen, Cash moves to
town and steals Maggie’s heart. On prom
night though senior year he leaves her on her auntie’s porch in her prom dress
broken-hearted and Luc takes care of her.
A couple of days later without warning the two boys both join the army
then go radio silent on her. In this
book, we do not find out why they left her behind and go off or radio silent.
Secrets of the past are
revealed both Cash and Luc are trying to be selfless and give the other room to
get together with Maggie if that is what she and he should want. Until finally Luc can’t take waiting and
wanting her and declares his love and later gives her an ultimatum. Time for
Maggie to grow up.
Most of the book, Cash can
leave a bad taste in your mouth until you see what he is up against. Then, you start to see his edges aren’t so
rough and his heart not so harden. You
start to see a man who genuinely loves his friends and is trying to do the best
he can. In the end that is all, he has
them.
No matter what his faults
they always have and always will forever love, Cash. I would say at about chapter ninety get a box
of tissues. You will, in fact, need them
out. I did not read the first two books in the dark on a few things but not
badly. Still enjoyed.

stars. Free on Amazon. Follow us at www.1rad-readerreviews.com.
