I don’t want anything to do with my crazy family’s drama, which I’ve been watching unfold from a distance over the last year, but now my grandfather has Alzheimer’s and I feel I need to at least make a quick visit to see him. My hockey season’s over, all I have to do is get through my teammate Steve’s wedding, and then I’m on a plane to Los Angeles to do my family duty. After that, I’ll head home to Manitoba for some summer R&R at the family lake cottage.

Nobody’s expecting what happens at my wedding, which becomes pandemonium. I need to get out of there. Fast. Who do I turn to? Jackson Wynn, one my fiancé’s teammates. He’s been a friend to me since I met Steve. For one night, we hide out in his condo, but he’s leaving in the morning for California. I want to go with him.

I can’t take Steve’s fiancée with me to California. He’s going to flip shit over this. But the lying cheating bastard kind of deserves it, and I’ve always had a soft spot for Molly. Or maybe not so soft…because she’s not only sweet and kind, she’s hot as hell. This is a bad idea for so many reasons, and I sure as hell don’t need more drama in my life, but I can’t say no to her.
On this nutso trip, neither of us expect Molly to bond with my bonkers family…especially my poor, confused grandpa. And neither of us expect to bond with each other

| Jackson does not want to be at this wedding but he goes anyway. His teammate Steve is marrying his trivia partner Molly Flynn, they also like taking shots of tequila. Then as the wedding starts Molly reads what someone sent her which had to be the person that has been with Steve for, I don’t know how long, needless to say, no wedding. The commotion has died down somewhat and Jackson checks in on his friend. They are now leaving the hotel through the kitchen and take a cab to his apartment. In the morning she has really committed to going to California with him and buys a ticket after a stop at target they are on the plane. Finding out that there are no rooms left at the resort she is staying with him. She also goes with him one night to his family dinner which she finds out a lot but they all like her. When he does not bring her the next time, he is in trouble so she comes with him and they go swimming only for her to get stuck in the bathroom a very funny scene. You find out more about his grandfather, she also gets him to talk to his father which actually is a good thing and he is better for it. She listens when he is having contract problems, so it is only natural for him to invite her to go to Canada with him which she agrees. It is here that everything that they have been feeling for each other is finally shared and shared for weeks. There is a lot that goes on so you need to read it. When she leaves though, he is a mess. He is that way when he gets back to Chicago as well. When she goes to his apartment to try to get him to talk nothing. He will come around and that part and the end of the book when you find out about some of the other couples is really good.
