Jace Black went from an oilfield roughneck to an overnight singing sensation. Now he's working on a duet with country music legend Krystal King, and he's determined to earn his way to the top. But the more time he spends with Krystal, the more he finds himself falling for her--and he's beginning to be more interested in her than he is in making a name for himself.
Krystal King grew up on stage and in the spotlight. No matter how golden her life appears, her past left deep wounds. But Jace Black makes her wish things were different. To do that, she'd have to risk letting him in... And that might be too big a risk for her battered heart to take.
PAT'S REVIEW
A country music story about Jace Black who has gone from the oil fields as a roughneck, his sister put his name in for one of those T.V. shows and he won. Now he is looking at singing with one of the legends of country music the King family. Krystal King has written another hit song or so she believes. Now her father and others want her sister and some unknown to sing a duet. She does not want her song to be sung by them because it is personal and she feels it is her song. The story takes hold when the two of them meet and they are actually able to do the duet together. An instant attraction forms. The comes in the mind of Krystal and the impression that she has of herself that she is broken and not worthy of anything good happening in her life. Here Jace fights with her in to get her to see the good that is inside of her. This story will take you in many different directions trying to find their place in the world and also deal with the past especially from childhood. That is Krystal she has to overcome and deal with her childhood and what happened. When she finds out about Jace and his past she wants to move on and let him go. But he won’t go. See how they work it out and how everything comes together. You should also be aware of some child molestation that is in this story for those which will bring back memories. I really enjoyed this book and the characters, did not like her mother. Overall a very good story. I received this book from Netgalley.com I gave it 4 stars. Follow us at www.1rad-readerreviews.com |
