The woman's killing me.

I'm not the kind of man who would normally even consider blurring the lines between landlord and tenant or boss and employee, but Summer is a walking temptation. Neurotic and obsessive when it comes to work details, sure, but a damn cute temptation nevertheless.

She's been a good tenant and an even better worker. Plus, she doesn't simper or throws herself at me like a lot of women who find out my net worth. I've grown...fond of her, oddly enough.

But if she drags me out of bed in the middle of the night to talk about work one more time...

The man's a saint.

Not only did Jason hire me for the greatest project I've ever run point on, but he also let me move into an amazing loft in his building as an extravagant job-relocation perk. Sure, he can be a grouch when I accidentally wake him up to go over the project, but he's still a saint nevertheless.

He's been a fantastic boss and a surprisingly protective landlord. But...when did his shoulders get so wide? And why is that growling voice of his making me all weak in the knees lately?

Also, is it still considered morning wood if it happens in the middle of the night...or something more?

MY REVIEW:

     When Jason hires Summer as his new contractor to clean up the mess of one contractor he had to fire he had done his research first.  He couldn’t afford another delay so he knew she was good at her job.  He never expected when he offered her an apartment, in the package incentive, which is in his building for relocating.  She is an insomniac who thought of the job twenty-four-seven.

     He does now too.  You see Summer is one quirky nerd who loves her dream job.  When an idea strikes, she has to go to the eth degree yet, she seeks Jason’s approval at every turn.  Giving Jason insight to figure out this brilliant woman has never really been allowed to fly solo without a man there to check her work, but really holding only holding her back.

     Jason, however, has hired her for her skills alone as well as her brilliance.  So, he tells her unless it’s going to change the plans a great deal or require additional funding to go for it.  The day she follows him into the bathroom while he showering, to continue their meeting. She seems to keep showing up for at all odd hours in the predawn hours, from that day on their whole relationship changes.

     She comes from a past she is not proud of and is afraid to tell Jason.  He has to reveal to her what gossip he has heard about her from his circles.  He knows they are untrue and he doesn’t care about them. But it is a fact it is going around.  He knows it will crush her exuberant personality for life. He likes her quirks.  He thinks they are cute.

     He also knows how hard it is in her professional life to be taken seriously. But knows that the crews that she manages for the most part truly love working for her.  She doesn’t mind getting her hands dirty and works right alongside them with a toolbelt as she was taught by the best in the industry from the ground up, her grandfather.

     I love how Jason overlooks all of Summer’s peculiar quirks, actually thinking they are cute.  At the same time, he sees, she is a hard worker on site.  Not afraid to put on a tool belt and work alongside all her men. That she is better than most men.

     We get to see her go from someone who appears to be afraid of her shadow, to a woman not afraid to tell Jason what she wants at work and in the bedroom.  This is for sure 18+.
