Much more than he bargained for…
“You want me to find you a wife?”
“No. I want you to be my wife.”
Garrett Song is this close to taking the reins of his family’s LA fashion empire…until the Song matriarch insists he marries her handpicked bride first. To block her matchmaking, he recruits Natalie Sobol to pose as his wife. She needs a fake spouse as badly as he does. But when passion burns down their chaste agreement, the flames could destroy them all…
MY REVIEW:
What a sexually
intense story, with hardly any scenes to really stand out, compared to other
books. This couple’s chemistry exudes boundaries
of their relations to the point it is falling right of the pages, yet it is not
graphic you feel it. This author is able
to make you feel the goosebumps and the tingles that go up, their spines.
This is a story about
Garrett Song Hansol empire king of the fashion world in L.A. and N.Y. started
by his two loving Korean immigrant grandparents. It was his grandfather’s dream, but he died much
too young.
Being a young single
widowed mother, Grace Song steps in to make her husband’s dream a reality. When Garrett’s mother passes when he is
fifteen and his sister, eight his father steps down as CFO to grieve. Grace starts grooming him with the old Korean
ways and the business to one day take over.
When he comes back to
L.A. after working at the N.Y. office for a long stretch he doesn’t move back
in with the family at home. As usually
Korean customs. Grace springs on him she
has arranged a Korean wife for him. He
is not happy.
Little does his
grandmother know earlier that day he had finally met the interim HR person for
their company. Natalie Sobol she is half
Korean and half American. She is excellent
at her job and highly revered. Although,
not his type, fairly plain, she has a great figure and is beautiful in a
natural way, not to mention she is spunky.
The thing is he doesn’t
do love and marriage. Being she’s not
his type, why is she on his mind since he met her? Especially, the whole one plus hours drive to
his family home. So, when his grandmother
drops the bomb Natalie is the first person he thinks of when he starts his lie.
Saying he can’t and won’t do an arranged marriage
because he’s already engaged to someone, he
loves.
When his grandmother
says become unengaged, he does the opposite.
He makes a proposal not even Natalie can say no to. You see she has a problem she needs help with,
and she will go as far as marrying a man she doesn’t love only lusts after to
get what she needs. It’s that important to her.
When things hit the tensest
moments ever, it causes tears. These two
come a long way in one year. Opening up
to become something they never thought possible.
The way the author takes
you on this impossible ride but brings you through a funny, tearful, but
romantic, HEA ride is so worth it.
I give this: 5++++ stars.
