Eric agreed to Beth’s plan out of pure boredom. Why not spend some time on a tropical island with a beautiful girl, even if his buddy’s sister is completely off-limits? But it doesn’t take long before he realizes something is seriously wrong with this paradise. Someone seems to be out to hurt Beth, kicking Eric’s protective instincts into high gear. Now he’s keeping Beth close for her safety even as his head warns him to keep his distance. Sure, there’s a danger on the island, but the most dangerous thing may be the way his body and his heart is responding to Beth.
Thank goodness Beth reminds him that the only reason she is on the island is for her job—a job that just might kill them both…or leave their hearts in tatters if they don’t trust each other…

Eric Harvey is asked by a Seal teammate to check in on his sister for him. Saying yes because he is tired of rehab for his injury. He catches Beth William, a journalist just as she lost her fake husband for an expose she has been wanting to do on exclusive only couples retreat. After apologizing to Eric she takes him to lunch and explains her dilemma. He decides to help her out.
Once arriving at the island the two of them begin to feel that something is off, especially when they begin to know more about the couples that were shared on the forms.
Something is off between them as well, and the hands-off rule that was put in place slowly begins to be taken away. See how the catch the host and if they will go from fake couple to real couple in this good story. I received this book from Netgalley.com I gave it 4 stars.
