My name is Jason Hart.
As the best defensive lineman in the country, I eat, sleep and breathe football. And I like it that way. I’ve only got a few more years before I’ll have to retire, so expending energy on anything other than football seems like a waste of time.
That is, until I have a random meeting with a little boy who just lost his father. We have more in common than you might think and it creates an unlikely bond. As our friendship grows, so do my feelings for his mother.
I know Addison, as a recent widow, isn’t ready to date again. But I want to get to know her better, in spite of all her rejections.
Is it possible that I, a self-proclaimed bachelor, could be having a Change of Hart?
MY REVIEW:
Jason
is a linebacker for the Dallas Cowboys.
He is a hometown boy and a childhood friend he had reconnected with
asked him to speak at her school for an assembly he couldn’t say no. He and Lindsey went from toddler to college
together.
On the day of the assembly a little seven-year-old
boy, Jaxon, flies up on stage crying and saying, “Thanks for coming for my
Birthday, I knew you would come. He was
a little shaken. But something in his shaky voice touched Jason. In fact, it shook him to the core.
When he couldn’t get Jax out of his head
he asked the principal for a sit down with the boy. He finds out the boy’s dad died six months
ago. That he’s a huge football star and
his grandpa can’t come over as much to watch football like he and his dad used
to do.
After a few dad’s and he called still get
Jax’s out of his head. He talked with
Lindsey and asked her to give his mom his number to set up a time to take a
tour of the stadium. When Jax and his
mom arrive, he is totally blown away by her.
She might be on the curvy side but she beyond gorgeous. He loves women with meat on their bones. She had been made to feel however that she
wasn’t enough, to curvy, and to old.
But for Jason she was pretty perfect he
just had to convince her of that. So, when that happens one side of the split
was time, he spent with Jax and the other time he spent with her.
I enjoyed this book and its story of hurt,
pain, conflicts. The characters are fun
and witty. My only problem is that the
wedding scene seemed rushed.
