Kozart Savage is the world’s biggest rock star.
At twenty-five, he’s got it all. Money. Fame. And the adoration of fans everywhere.
He thought that was enough to make him forget his past.
Enough to transform his distrusting heart.
Turns out that’s not how it works...
Then he meets a bridesmaid hiding out in a hotel bar.
Probably the only girl on the planet who doesn’t know who he is.
But she seems to be the one girl who can give him something no one else can.
Aubrey Prescott just discovered her boyfriend cheating—at her sister’s wedding.
Trying to escape humiliation, she seeks refuge in a hotel bar.
While trying to figure out how to pick up the pieces of what was supposed to be an amazing senior year in college, a handsome stranger interrupts her wallowing.
A stranger who quickly makes her forget why she’s there.
One who, after an unforgettable night, disappears without a second glance.
But walking away doesn’t always mean letting someone go.
MY REVIEW:
The rock star Kozart knew he
was coming to the end of his partying days.
Ever since being a kid in foster care he has never been able to sleep
more than a couple of hours at a time.
So, when he wakes with two blondes in his
bed, he knows it’s not his best moment.
He gets dressed walks into the front room of the suite and lets the band
members know, who are still partying after the concert, that he is going
out.
He arrives at the hotel bar and sits by a
young woman who appears distressed. She
is laying in an overturned bowl of pretzels and mouth full of sarcasm.
When Kozart asks Aubrey if she’s okay, she
schools him on the proper etiquette of someone passed out I a bar. When she finished, he replies, “You’re not
passed out.”
“Not the point, it’s the appearance.” He apologizes and says he was just
checking. Then she realizes out of the
whole full bar he was the only one who cared enough to ask. Voicing her thoughts, she says, she is more
pitiful than she thought.
When she starts to talk, she starts to
tell him her douche bag boyfriend was caught in the bridal suite with a
bridesmaid. He did wonder what all the
pink and sparkles were about. He asks,
“You got a name?” To which she replies,
“Be funny if I didn’t.” Avoiding the
question altogether. He laughs and tells
her she’s a feisty drunk. She sadly
says, “No just a humiliated one.”
When she tells all and says she’s avoiding
the reception because everyone knows he saw red. He basically said, “Let’s go! You’re going to your sister’s wedding. You’re not missing her big day because of
him.” She said she wasn’t brave
enough. He said he will be there with
her. She was floored.
You see Aubrey has no idea who Kozart is
she’s a country music fan, not a rock fan.
For Kozart this could be a huge risk, but he likes this feisty girl more
than he could explain. Going to this
wedding which he hates wedding, to spend time with her is worth it. Plus, to eff with her ex make it even better.
When she wakes the next morning in just
her bra and panties, she is relieved that Kozart is not in the bed next to
her. A little disappointed too. When from the bathroom doorway he says good
morning she is confused. He explains
nothing happened but that for the first time ever he slept more than two
hours. He said he had to leave and never
asked for her number or asked to see her again.
But then…a phone text from an unknown
number comes in. It’s Kozart. So, it begins.
I truly enjoyed this book. It pulls you in at the very beginning and
holds you until the end. The characters
bantering was sweet and funny. Yet, you
knew who to hate all the way through and who to question as in, why. It does come with a HEA.
I give this: 5 stars.
