DEFINITELY, MAYBE...OR LOVE, ACTUALLY?
English professor Bonnie Blythe expects her life to play out like her favorite novels, especially now that her long-term boyfriend has finally proposed. So when a shocking discovery leads Bonnie to end her engagement, she decides to close the book on love. But the plot thickens when a brand-new character enters the scene—and quickens Bonnie's heart.
With his brilliant blue eyes, sexy accent, and irresistible charm, Theo Wharton is like a romantic hero straight out of a Jane Austen novel. When fate places Bonnie in England for a summer—conveniently close to Theo—she realizes a hot friends-with-benefits fling is exactly what she needs to start a fresh chapter. Just as Bonnie begins to believe she's falling in love, an eye-opening revelation into Theo's life makes Bonnie feel like she's wandered into one of her favorite books. Will Bonnie have the courage to risk her heart and turn the page with the dashing Brit to find her true happy ending after all?
MY REVIEW:
My daughter is a total Shakespeare buff and I could totally see her having the same dreams of doing the costume parties, wanting to walk where he walked and just all of it. The dreamy pie in the sky relationship, kids, and career in that order not so much.
This was a fun and entertaining romance that did take some interesting twist and turns for Bonnie and Theo. Because you see the year prior when they met Bonnie had been engaged to Gabe the man she had known since she was six. But he decides to have an affair on her, and she catches them in the act on her bed.
Now, there are some funny moments with her friends one being when she tells Ana and Sadie about the breakup at the breakfast, scaring the elderly lady behind them, too funny. A couple of others are at the bridal shop fitting and the art class right there given by, Ana, LOL! I have to say I loved Tabby she was just too funny! She had more guts than Theo.
I get it though being a firstborn can do it to you. Him worse with his position. Now, how quickly, Bonnie takes him back after him snubbing her for a couple of weeks to wine and dine, Camille, I don’t think so in real life. Just saying.
I just couldn’t understand how he could justify in his head how he was any better than Gabe. When his mistress was his kingdom, family obligations, and secrets that he kept from her, like he could never marry her, but could be his mistress?
Still, all the other elements were there that make up for the little voices that said yeah, but! You can get it all in the book because all my yeah buts get answered by the end. Then you go I get it. I give this: 5 stars. Provided by netgalley.com. Follow us at www.1rad-readerreviews.com.
