Addison Murphy is the funny friend, the girl you grab a beer with—the girl voted most likely to start her own sweatshirt line. And now that one of her best guy friends is getting married, she’ll add “groomsman” to that list, too. She’ll get through this wedding if it’s the last thing she does. Just don’t ask her to dive for any bouquet.
When Tucker Crawford returns to his small hometown, he expects to see the same old people feel, comfort in the same old things. He certainly doesn’t expect to see the nice pair of bare legs sticking out from under the hood of a broken-down car. Certainly doesn’t expect to feel his heart beat faster when he realizes they belong to one of his best friends.
If he convinces Addie to give him a chance, they could be electric…or their break-up could split their tight-knit group in two.
Hiding the way he feels from the guys through bachelor parties, cake tastings, and rehearsals are one thing. But just as Tucker realizes that Addie truly could be the perfect woman for him—he was just too stupid to realize it—now she’s leaving to follow her own dreams. He’s going to need to do a lot of compromising if he’s going to convince her to take a shot at forever with him—on her terms this time.
MY REVIEW:
I so enjoyed
this story. The characters are so
engaging and real. I love the closeness and
the humor the author brings to life through each character during tough
situations and oh my gosh such funny situations.
This is a story of friendships, of family,
and of small-town life. How the five
different characters, Addie a physical therapist, Tucker a lawyer, Easton town
sheriff, Ford a firefighter, and last but not least Shep a superintendent of
the local school district. As kids, they
ran in a pack. Never once noticing Addie
is a girl. She did all the sports they
did. The district put their foot down at
football though.
The town pick-up game is brutal she mans
up and guys watch out she will ploy you down.
Still does to this day plays a mean game. On this night a special poker night had been
called than their regular game night and all members were to be there no matter
what. She needed to meet with
them. Addie was excited mostly because she
would get to see Tucker.
Ever since he took a job with the law firm
in the city, over two hours away, communication had been scarce. So, when she arrives on the houseboat early
the impact is huge. It was like her lost
puzzle piece that had been found. They
find out as a group that it would be changing again because Shep asked Lexi to
marry him.
Which worries Addie. If she will even be allowed in the group
because Lexi barely liked her but now as her fiancé, it is now a totally different
animal. Shep, asks them all to be
groomsmen and they are all happy to do it but Addie especially when she hears
she has to wear a dress like the bridesmaids and heels.
When Tucker plans a surprise home visit
with his friends and on his way the are ladies on the side of the road he, of
course, has to stop to assist. When he
gets to the car there are a great pair of legs under the car in a pink dress
with and all the other ladies are talking at once when the spokesperson for
them says she doesn’t think the one under the car knows what she’s doing. When said lady speaks he knows the voice.
Holy Sh-t it is HIS ADDIE! When did she become a girl? No, it can’t be his Addie wouldn’t be in a
dress. When she pops up and it is,
saying they need a tow.
You will want to read this book. The story is cute. Like meeting for the first time yet you’ve
known each other forever. But how
well? There is a lot of humor, but the
serious parts will gut you too.
