After accessing the computer of a potential Russian operative, Vivian stumbles on a secret dossier of deep-cover agents within America’s borders. A few clicks later, everything that matters to her—her job, her husband, even her four children—are threatened.
Vivian has vowed to defend her country against all enemies, foreign and domestic. But now she’s facing impossible choices. Torn between loyalty and betrayal, allegiance and treason, love and suspicion, who can she trust?
PAT'S REVIEW
Let me first say I thoroughly enjoyed this book from the time I started reading it to the end. So much so that I wanted the story to continue. For me, that is the sign of a good book. The book opens with you finding out that Vivian Miller works for the CIA as a counterintelligence analyst. She mainly sits at her computer and goes through information. This one day she is given a computer to go through and get all of the information out of it as possible. The women love her job, her children, and her husband. Going through the computer she comes across a file friends. Looking for a Russian sleeper cell she opens the file and sees five separate files. She begins to opens each one of the files and by the time she gets to the last one she feels sick and if her world is falling apart. The author takes you through Vivian’s life to the moment she is here and what she is going to do. What is she going to do? This is not one of those books that you can figure out as you go along, no the author will add a little bit here and there to keep you guessing, but at the same time keep the story true to its bones. The way the author has Vivian second guess herself and yet at the same time she still needs to be a mother is fantastic. This is a wonderful story and very good characters. Like I said from the beginning I did not want this story to end but even that caught by surprise. A wonderful book! I received this book from Netgalley.com I gave it 5 stars.
