He thinks: How bad can this thing be? But before long he’s plunged into a desperate race through LA, Chicago, Phoenix, and San Francisco, and through the hidden parts of the internet, up against thugs and assassins every step of the way—right back to where he started, in Mother’s Rest, where he must confront the worst nightmare he could imagine.

Walking away would have been easier. But as always, Reacher’s rule is: If you want me to stop, you’re going to have to make me.

Another outstanding story from Mr. Child. This time Jack Reacher is in a town and is wanting to know why it is named “mother’s rest”. No one knows or will give him an answer. While going back to the train he notices the same women wanting at the station as before and goes to her just to talk. This is where he meets Michelle Chang, a private investigator who is waiting for her partner to show. Reacher decides to wait with her and when he does not the story slowly builds with intrigue as to what is going on in this town. This story takes you to L.A. Chicago, San Francisco, and Phoenix. For Reacher, he is thinking how bad can things be in this small town. What he does not know is that there is a whole other side of the web called the dark web, not that he was on the web, to begin with. An outstanding story and having Chang with him really makes this story. There are many little things that happen to him in this book that did not or have not happen to him before which really add to the story. Another outstanding book. I gave this book five stars.
