Every loner needs a family—and a heart to call home. The bad-boy bikers of the True Brothers MC make good as a strong, silent type shows the right woman that he can speak the language of love.
With her lowlife father in prison for manslaughter, Nicole Walker keeps her distance from the biker scene—until she meets the stud running security at her best friend’s wedding. “Tank” is big, mean, and trouble from every direction. Yet Nicole can’t take her eyes off his chiseled body, or deny the pure electricity she feels when he returns her gaze. Guys like Tank are supposed to be a one-way ride to heartbreak. So why, after a scorching night in his bed, does Nicole only want more?
From his tour in the Marines to his sister’s disastrous marriage, Tank has seen the worst that life has to offer. Ever since his father’s death, Tank’s been fiercely protective of his family—and the True Brothers have always had his back. But nothing could prepare him for a woman like Nicole, who’s determined to break down the walls around his heart. When violence strikes, placing Nicole in harm’s way, Tank digs deep to find the courage to keep her safe—and the strength to love without limits.
MY REVIEW:
This book deals with trust that had been broken by the people in their lives who were meant to love them unconditionally. Sometimes you even take a chance and choose someone you learn to trust that says they will love, honor, and respect you. Maybe even protect you. Instead, all the above they break and do the exact opposite.
After nine eleven, Shawn “Tank” Hudson did the right thing and joined the Marines. During that fourth tour at some point, an IUD caused him to wake in the hospital with head injuries. Not any you could see but horrible PTSD. His outlook on life became dreary. Drinking and fighting became the norm. When one night at a bar he helps out an older guy that was outnumbered by some biker members. The guy and he became fast friends. It just so happened his new-found friend was a biker too.
Stich was his handle, he was about twenty years older than Tank. But way smaller than Tank’s 6’6’’. But the little guy could scrap. He was a part of the True Brothers MC. What he liked about the club is that they were trying to clean up their ways. They still took care of business but not in the old traditional ways people normally thought. The group was more family oriented and yes there was still drinking and women they weren’t saints but there is a true brotherhood.
The president and the vice president both had their ladies and they were part of a trio of college friends. When one of their ladies ended up in the hospital a third of the trio had caught Tank's eye, Nicole Walker. Yet, he just could see why he found her so intriguing since she always seemed to look down her nose at all the brothers.
She only came to the compound or any of the functions because of Jessica and Emily. Yet, she seemed to be making friends with Stich wife Brittany too. He just couldn’t figure her out. All he knew is that she was beautiful and has a sexier than hell body he wants to mount.
But he knows women like her white collar, college educated, white picket fence, two-point-two children, and forever. Commitment. Which is not for him. Been there done that. Even bought the ticket and didn’t like the ride. He was known for the “One and done.” At best the “Two and shoo.” So, it would be crazy to start a thing with Nicole, so he thought.
They about after the “One and done” that it felt off in a good way yet odd in what happens when we see them with someone else he/she thought. Things got interesting. Very funny and very touching too. I give this: 5++++ stars. Provided by netgalley.com. Follow us at www.1rad-readerreviews.com.
