THE RIGHT KIND OF TROUBLE SHILOH WALKER
In the small Southern town of McKay’s Treasure, everybody knows that the handsome local police chief, Gideon Marshall, has been carrying a torch for Moira McKay. It’s also no secret that Moira has been rejecting Gideon since…forever. But after an attack from a mysterious stranger bent on taking down the McKay family, Moira becomes filled with distrust toward most men. Now she wonders whether she’s been wrong about Gideon all along—and if it’s not too late to admit him back into her life…and into her bed...
Gideon has finally convinced his wasted heart to give up on Moira, who he’s loved since he was sixteen years old. Moira’s attack changes everything, however—and he vows to protect her. But how much is he willing to risk for a woman who’s always kept him at bay…until now? And is it too late for Moira to tell him that her love for him has always been locked deep in her heart—and he holds the key?
MY REVIEW:
To some family means everything. To others it means nothing. To Moira McKay at 16 she learned a hard
lesson. She learned it means every last
breath. That love can cost you
everything.
You see Moira was best friends with Gideon
Marshall and somewhere along the way they became more. So much more.
On this night it was their anniversary of when they became a
couple. So they had made plans in
advance with her mother. She bought new clothes
and everything. At the last minute there
was a glitch. The person their parents
had as a guardian in case anything should happen to them had passed away from a
heart attack.
So they had made plans to go to Ella Sue’s
to ask her and her husband if they would be to people to take the task on. When her mom said something to Moira she got
all whiny. Her mom allowed her to go on
the date. She took Neve her little
sister and she left her younger brother Brannon and told her they would talk
later about her attitude and her tone of voice.
At the beginning of her date with Gideon Marshall all she could talk
about is how could her mom have forgotten and then been mad at her. Gideon was just trying to get her off the
subject and get her to cut her mom some slack.
She had a great date.
When she went in all was quiet so she just
figured the family was all sound asleep.
So the next morning when she was awakened by someone ringing and banging
on the front door. She was surprised she
beat her mom to the front door for once.
She didn’t find it odd that her brother didn’t wake he could sleep
through anything. When she opened the
door there stood the Chief of Police and his deputy. Along with Ella Sue and Gideon was holding
Neve who had tears in her eyes that were slowly falling down her cheek.
At that moment she heard talking that was
saying, “We have to tell you something.”
She walked to Gideon to get Neve but she wanted to stay with him. The Chief tried again to tell her when all of
a sudden she yelled, “NO!” Because her
brother must have heard her because he came out half asleep. Neve wanted to go to him. That’s when she fell into Gideon’s arms. Telling him, “Don’t let go.” His response, “You don’t have to ask me
twice.” That day everything changed.
From this day forward she started pulling away from Gideon. This relationship
was in for a bumpy ride. We’re they friend,
lovers, or more?
She
not only pulled away but at times she became hostel. That one day Gideon up and joined the
service. Which killed her. Which started their 20-year roller
coaster. But now Gideon was back home
and chief of police. Someone is out to
get the McKay children and now their loved ones.
See how Moira handles having him back in
town, him deciding to finally date someone that wants him since she doesn’t
seem to, and how Gideon can deal with someone after the women he’s still in
love with?
I was hooked before the end of the second
chapter. I didn’t even want to go to
sleep that night but sleep is overrated until you need it. I thought I knew who it was but I kept
questioning myself until I knew for sure.
Yup, this was a good one. I give
this 5++++ stars. Provided by
