LOVE WALKS IN SAMANTHA CHASE
The Shaughnessy Brothers are back
He lives by a schedule. Aubrey Burke is on the run from an about-to-be-disastrous mistake when resort owner Hugh Shaughnessy catches her climbing through his office window. Until Aubrey tumbled into his life, Hugh had relied on work and discipline to safeguard a heart damaged by family tragedy. Now his careful world will never be the same.
She lives for the moment. Hugh’s approach to life and love is the opposite of Aubrey’s, but she soon finds herself falling hard for the handsome hotel mogul. There’s a darker reason behind her “live for today” attitude than Hugh could possibly know, but for the first time Aubrey dares to hope this man’s love might make it worth taking a chance on the future.
MY REVIEW:
Through the passing of someone we love we
can learn life lessons. Some can be good
for us and some not at all. Some we can
outgrow if we learn how to let them go.
That is where Hugh Shaughnessy is in life.
Unfortunately when he was in his teens and
when we all are so full of ourselves and think we know everything he chose not
to follow the house rules. He was coming
in late and not calling. After the third
time he lost his driving privileges.
Therefore, on the third day when it was raining and his sister became
ill and his mom needed to go to the drug store and he could not go for her and
mentioned it, that life lesson came into play.
Because the mother he loved so much who had six children with many
schedules down to one finally tuned one, well she never came home. He knew life would never be the same again.
From that day forward to honor her he
would follow her example and words to a tee.
“Think twice before being impulsive.”
It was about the schedule and there was no room for spontaneity. Just no straying from the normal. He had learned the hard way the most
unthinkable way that you would pay a much too high price if you did.
The day Aubrey Burke crawled in his office
window to retrieve her suitcase his whole life turned upside down. His days of knowing anything for sure and
having a schedule all went out the window when she came in. Aubrey was the most stunning women Hugh had
ever seen. And the thong she was wearing
when she went head first into the window put his head into the clouds. He also like that she was spunky and stood up
to him.
The thing was he knew she was running and
hiding from something and he felt this overwhelming urge to help her. So when he heard a man’s voice outside his
office giving his employee a hard time he told her to sit tight. It turned out to be someone looking for her
and he was none to kind about it. So
Hugh gave him false info and sent him packing.
When he came back in she was surprised at his help. After their talk he offered her his
assistance and she says…
You will have to read to find out. It is a very good book. I was able to get a love story and family
saga all in one. I give this 5
stars. Provided by netgalley.com. Follow us at:
