NOT ALL SCARS HEAL
For Donovan Pate, the lake town of Evergreen Cove is a minefield of tough memories—including the day he had to let go of Sofie Martin. Years later, he still can’t forget the taste of her lips and the feel of her killer curves. He knows he’s too damaged, that he should stay away for her own good. But what the head says and the heart wants are two very different things…
Seven years ago, Donovan broke Sofie’s heart. Now her career depends on playing nice in order to pull off the charity fundraiser of the decade. She vows to keep things professional…yet working by his side every day doesn’t make it easy to fight temptation, and it isn’t long before she finds herself falling for this bad boy all over again. But loving Donovan means helping him face his past–so they can fight for a future together.
HUBBY'S REVIEW:
This story begins with a guy named Donovan Pate, arriving back in town because he inherited his grandmothers Mansion. He had been gone for seven years and really did not want to come back and especially to the place he grew up and did not have good memories of. One of the first people he runs into is Sophie Martin, who actually was the last person he saw and not on good terms, being slapped by her after saying some things he should not have said after they were together. Now standing face to face they are brought back to that night. They are also put together because before his grandmother passed she arraigned for a function to be put on at the mansion and Sophia is in charge and she is charging Donavan who though he says he is not attracted to her still is and when the function is over it is time for a decision for him on whether to sell the place and also to have a relationship with Sophia he must decide what to do or just run away again. A good story because the two main characters actually work things out and they get to know each other, but the guy is still scared. Overall a good book. I got this book from net galley. I give this 4 stars.
