In this follow-up to Clipped Wings, the emotional love story continues between Hayden and Tenley; two young people who desperately want to love and be loved but are afraid to completely let go of their pasts.
In the wake of losing Tenley Page, tattooist Hayden Stryker's tumultuous past is haunting him. Plagued by nightmares about the murder of his parents, Hayden reaches out again to Tenley. Having run from the man she doesn't believe she deserves, Tenley finally lays her guilt to rest. Despite their intense physical attraction, Hayden and Tenley struggle to repair their fragile emotional connection. As Hayden gets closer to the truth, he must find a way to reconcile his guilt over his parents' death in order to keep the woman who finally cracked his armor, and found her way into his heart.
MY REVIEW:
Okay, I have to say this book redeems
itself as far as the length of the book, the character background
enlightenment, and current character detail to relationships. Theirs as a couple and theirs in relationship
to others.
I enjoyed how Ms. Hunting chose to have
them each handle their traumatic backgrounds.
How they chose to bring each other in to their recovery not always
willingly but still never fully turning away from each other knowing down deep
they loved each other without words being said.
Yet, when the books starts off you can’t
tell that at all and I don’t know that for sure I only know parts of that from
the first book which I was not happy with at all. But, she turns my opinion way around in this
book and I have to say with this book I am a fan of her writing.
Tenley had gone back home to deal with
what she had been running from for a year but it was time to put it to
rest. When her deceased fiancĂ©’s brother
came to take her back and she told Hayden to give her that, it killed him. She didn’t call him at all for 3 weeks he
waited then he found out she was emailing and texting their friends and that
pissed him off. So, he calls her by the
end of the talk he sounds distraught.
Hearing his voice so manic and out of
control and then calm abruptly then hanging up the next second. Tenley got really worried and knew she needed
to get home to him. She knew he was
dealing with his own demons from his parents murders and the nightmares could
pull him under big time and she felt like she had pulled him part way under by
not keeping in contact. So she rushed
through her business with not her own risk at stake for her to rush home to Hayden.
There is so much more than the lite
overview I have written about like the solving of Hayden’s parent’s murder and
so much more. Ms. Hunting’s flare for dramatic
coupling of words to be able to visually see what is happening is interesting
for us to be able to see. I really
enjoyed Inked Armor a great deal and I give it 5 stars.
