Lizzie Medina went to London to reinvent herself. Tired of being the quiet baby sister, and in no hurry to settle into a boring existence in surburbia, she escapes from home at the first opportunity. When she settles in London for a year of post-graduate studies, Lizzie is sure she’ll be able to start a whole new life. Immerse herself in the books she loves. Explore a new country. MY REVIEW:

Lovestruck in London is a book I could totally relate to all the way around.  Being of the same ethnic persuasion as Lizzie I did not have as many siblings as she did but I did have as many cousins, tias, tios and so on if not more.  You see Lizzie has five siblings there are: Maria (the mean one), Carlos (daddy’s boy), Laura (Middle child), Matias & Samuel (Twins but Samuel is her favorite of all) & Lizzie is the baby.  Since forever Lizzie has always loved everything there is about England.  So after she finished her studies and her about an accelerated program in London she and her best friend Cassie jumped on it. 

     On their first free weekend in London Cassie bought them tickets to see a play.  With one of the world’s top Newest Young Movies Stars in it.  So, she had booked the tickets months in advance.  Lizzie really didn’t want to go but she ends up going but to make her friend happy she does.  Well, you see in the long run she is glad she did because one of the leads in the play is also co-stars in a film with Thomas that she sat next to.  He was there to see the star of the play and he has taken a liking to her.  To the point that after he goes backstage to congratulate his friend for a job well done he meets up with Lizzie at a club.  Lizzie’s life changes in a big way.

     I totally enjoyed this book Lizzie is a character that I could see so much of myself in.  But the stories she would tell about her family was so much like own it was eerie.  But the Christmas part of the story was like when I brought my now husband by for the first time.  It really made me laugh.  I loved what they do for her and Cassie for Thanksgiving.  I have to say I just loved this book. This is a story of a young woman trying to find herself in a family that demands that you follow the norm out of fear.  It is fear of the unknown.  I so get that.  But it only take one in a family to break free and have the courage and the mold with be broken.  And Lizzie could be it.  Provided by netgalley.com
