Description
A word-of-mouth bestseller that’s captivating readers with its honesty, grit, and headstrong heroine, White Trash Beautiful is a story for anyone who has ever felt trapped in life, cheated by love—and longed for something more . . . Cass Daniels isn’t waiting for her knight in shining armor. She knows that girls like her don’t get a happily ever after. Not if you live in a trailer with your mom, work at a greasy spoon diner, and get leered at by old men. Maybe that’s why she puts up with Jackson—her poor excuse for a boyfriend, who treats her like dirt. Cass has learned to accept her lot in life. That is, until he walks into her diner. . . . His name is Tucker White, and he’s different from any man Cass has ever known. Tall, tattooed, and bad-ass gorgeous, he’s the lead singer of the rock band Damaged. From the moment they meet, Tucker sees something in Cass he just can’t shake. Something beautiful. Something haunted. Something special. And he’s determined to find out what it is—if only he can get her to open up and let him in. . . .
My Review:
This story is about
down & out Cass who goes to work daily knowing it will & and can't go
anywhere. (But dreams of getting out of the trailer park with the sparse money
she is able to save each paycheck.)Life has just not dealt her a great hand.
When she was young she met Jax, when he came to her aide when she was being
bullied at school. He was good & kind-hearted. As time moves on and he
moves in the home with her and
her mom, after her father abandoned them and times became hard. He loses his job finds a trailer park to
move them to and his kindness is now gone. He starts using drugs with Cass' mom
Ann, while Cass is at work trying to support all three of them. As Jax falls
farther down the rabbit hole of his drug use he gets meaner & abusive towards Cass. Cass thinks she loves
him at first & then she thinks she owes him for saving her. Then, she
meets, Tucker, at the greasy spoon she works at. It's lust at first sight but
she has no trust in what he says or what he wants, in her. Men always want
something right? No one ever gives you nothing for free even kindness, Right?
This brought a lot of different emotions to
the table. The inner struggle to be loyal to the one that stood by you, yet, at
what cost? The pain of so many types of loss that I never had time to say not
again, but, WOW! I totally recommend this book. Women need to find self-worth but it is nice to find it in
friends and those we love also. Cass was luck in the end she finds both but
what a dangerous ride she took to get there. She finds the HEA when I thought
for sure it was not going to happen. THIS BOOK WAS COURTESY OF NETGALLEY.COM
