Mackenzie Reed has officially been stood up. Not only has she wasted two years on Mr. So Not Interested but now she doesn’t even have pizza and the Mets to keep her company. Then hewalks into her life—more than six feet of rugged, hot stranger. Maybe, just for tonight, Mac can pretend to be a girl she’s not. After all, she deserves a little no-strings fun…
As far as Wesley Porter is concerned, one night with Mackenzie isn’t nearly enough. She’s a mystery he wants to solve—if he can keep her from running for the door every time they touch. There’s obviously some serious chemistry between them, so why is she fighting it?
As one sexy hookup turns into another (and another), Wesley is determined to prove they were made for each other. But Mac has been hurt before, and she refuses to fall for this sexy, ridiculously perfect guy. In fact, she has every intention of fighting it…unless he can convince her otherwise.
MY REVIEW:
On a blind date that doesn’t show and feeling like a fraud dressed up by her younger sister, Libby, a makeup artist. You see her and her two sister’s she is the least likely to be sitting in a frou-frou bar like the bar she finds herself in right now. She is dressed like a prom night Barbie doll. Poor Mackenzie Reed.
When really, she is more like Skipper the down to earth home and beach kind of girl. No makeup, jeans, tee-shirt, and a sports bar with a pizza. Watching a baseball game when possible. Instead, she is sitting alone drinking an expensive Lemon Drop Martini.
When the door opens she turns to see if maybe it could be the date she was to meet. It wasn’t it was someone way better by the looks of him. But the look of complete sexually hot intense attraction made her sexually as hot for him. Yet, too nervous to sit still.
Letting the bartender know she would be back she went off to the restroom. On her way out she was hit, on the ass by someone (which I give her props for not going after them and schooling them on their manners and sexual assault.) But it made her lose her footing and tip forward right into the arms of Wesley Porter. He caught her, centered her, and asked if she was okay.
When she said she was and thank you he followed her to her seat and asked to sit next to her seat. Two hours later they left together. They had a lot in common. Mac had never in her life had a one-night stand but for Wesley, she would be willing. All went well until morning and remembering stories her friends had told her the awkwardness. So rather than have that she decided to let him sleep and slip out.
Only there is one small problem she didn’t realize until too late when she was already at the subway station that she had left her phone at his place. Now she had a dilemma on her hands. How to get her phone back? See him or not see him?
This was not as funny as the first one but still very good. Many funny moments but also many serious ones too with family dilemmas that turn into funny moments. This family saga is so endearing as well as the couple being a steamy loving couple together. I give this: 5 stars. Provided by netgalley.com.
