MY REVIEW:
This book had so much going on from the get-go it is unreal. There were so many secrets you almost needed a scorecard but OMG! That is what made it so suspenseful. You just didn’t know who or when somebody was going to spill the beans.
I love those small-town America town stories with family ties and this was not a disappointing one at all. We had love, betrayal, no bro code or sister code, the first big “OO” ever at almost thirty, a girlfriend who fall for her besties daddy. So, Yeah Girl! We got it all in this little gem of a book. Oh, did I mention the slutty mom that blows into town that you dad divorced years ago for blowing everyone she could among other things after ten plus years and want to play mommy to her two grown daughters? Well, yeah who doesn’t want that?
See that’s just the tip of the iceberg. It’s the relationship between Kelly and Olivia Murphy, two sisters that were dealt a bad hand to have a mom too self-centered to know how to be a mother. With a father trying to do his best to keep his business running, out run the gossip of her affairs, and keep his girls happy and away from her madness.
When one day she just walks out leaving Jeff their father with his girls to raise alone. It was actually his happiest day and he knew though the saddest for his girls. The decisions that were made were made out of love and in order to protect the girls. At the same time, more secrets developed engulfing each one. Until it choked off their voices not allowing the three of them to continue as a family.
You will laugh and cry but you will find a feeling of understanding of how secrets can destroy. I give this: 5++++ stars. Provided by netgalley.com.
