Stats whiz Kayla Moriarity knows her way around numbers and algorithms. Men, on the other hand, are unsolvable equations. Now Kayla’s en route to her sister’s wedding—alone and without the fictional boyfriend she invented for her family. Fortunately, her plane comes complete with complimentary cocktails and a ridiculously hot ex-marine in the seat beside her. And that’s all it takes for Kayla’s inhibitions to go sailing out the airlock...
Cooper Shillings has soft spot for people in trouble, but he certainly wasn’t expecting to land in it himself—and definitely not while getting naughty mid-air with a sexy southern belle. When he hears Kayla’s predicament, however, he offers his services as a stand-in boyfriend. After all, he’s heading overseas soon...and how could he refuse a little no-strings wickedness?
It’s the perfect plan. And all Kayla has to do is ensure her family falls for the ultimate bluff, without falling for it—and Cooper—in the process...
PAT'S REVIEW:
Kayla is a stats wiz or statics, she has been that way her whole life and now she is stuck in an airport explaining to her mother that she is going to be late because of a delay. Overhearing most of the conversation and wondering why she is sitting by herself in a crowed airport. Cooper walks towards her and after getting a candy cane removed from his shirt sits next to her and pickups her plight. Wanting to help her she polity declines and then gives him the numbers as to why it would not work. She is surprised that he knows her official title and something inside of her shifts a little towards him. Cooper upgrades his ticket to sit next to her when he finds out that she normally drive to places, not flies. He helps her on the flight after they talk just a little more she finds out that he is ex-military but is going back over sees for a security job. She thinks that there is more to the story but he does not want to talk about it. She REALLY enjoys his way of distracting her during the flight to make it a more satisfying experience. Afterwards she realizes that he is still waiting for her and helps her with her bag. When she agrees to his idea of him being her boyfriend for the weekend for her sisters weeding everything is going good. The only problem turns out to be that everyone really likes him, and because of the way they interact people think they are really dating. It then gets supper crazy when he finds out that her uncle is the man that hired her for the new job. From their it becomes more confusing for the both of them because she finally tells him not to go back oversees. Now he must not only deal with his past but if he thought of a future he must think about that now as well. This is a very good story and both main characters are full of depth. You as a reader get caught up in their journey and what is going to happen. A very good book. I got this book from netgalley.com. I gave it 5 stars. Follow us at www.1rad-readerreviews.com (less) |
