“Redneck Casanova”
After a disastrous marital near-miss Jade Ballard retreats to San Antonio, cutting herself off from the world in general and more specifically her family’s country club lifestyle, which she no longer wants any part of. She takes comfort in food and eventually, the safety of an internet love affair.
“Miss Snooty Pants”
Rowdy Yates is a semi-reformed womanizer who’s leery of long-term entanglements. Until Jade, he never seriously considered anything beyond a “Wife-For-A-Night.” After months of flirting on the internet the couple meets, only to discover they already know one another. Rowdy has always mistaken Jade’s shy reserved nature for snobbishness, and Jade has always viewed the woman-loving Rowdy as a Redneck Casanova.
But the months they spent getting to know one another formed an attraction neither can fight.
Warning: This book contains cookie consumption, shopping, rants about bras, lost bras, stolen bras, a fake engagement, hawt sexy times, and a snooty plus-sized chick who falls hard for her Redneck Casanova.

Rad-Reader:  Why this title?  I can’t figure it out?

Amie: Honestly, I don’t know! It’s just the one that came to mind. I think this was a case where I came up with the title and the idea, literally, at the same time (and probably laughed my butt off), and it just stuck.  Plus no one ever said, “Hey maybe you need a different title.” LOL

Rad-Reader:  How did you come up with this storyline?

Amie:  True story. There was a guy that I met on the internet. It didn’t work out. I like retail therapy. I bought a couple bras from Target and didn’t bother to try them on. They didn’t fit. BOOM. Story idea.

Rad-Reader:  Why a storyline about a BBW?

Amie:  1. I’m a BBW. 2. People come in all shapes, sizes and colors, and regardless of your shape, size, or color you deserve to be seen and loved for who you are.

Rad-Reader:  What makes Rowdy continue to help her after she was always so rude to him?

Amie:  I think he was intrigued. Like, there’s this girl who he hates but who is also this other girl who he really really likes and how can they be the same girl? Then, of course, the family get involved :D

Rad-Reader:  Was Rowdy attracted to her those times she came into the dancehall before he knew her from online?

Amie:  I really don’t think he was. Not really. Not that he didn’t notice Jade or anything, but I think they were too busy disliking each other.

Rad-Reader:  Rowdy’s Family had set ideas but were very loving protective and tight.  Why was it so hard for Rowdy to love all them but not the mom he protected?

Amie:  I think there are two answers to this question: Rowdy felt like his mom abandoned him after what happened with his father (It’s kind of a spoiler so I won’t say) –because she blamed him. I mean, he really went out on a limb for her— AND she left him, which is answer number two. The truth of the matter is that abuse and shame kind of go hand in hand and shame breeds silence.

Rad-Reader:  Jade had a problem with her weight that she gained after she was left at the altar by the guy her mother picked out.  What is the best advice do you think Betti and Rowdy gave her?  (One example each.)

Amie:  Betti telling Jade she has to do it (grow, be her own person) for herself. I don’t think Rowdy really gives Jade advice so much as he makes her want to be better and more confident. He tells her she’s perfect for him just the way she is, even though she’s not perfect in the most literal sense of the word. He accepts her, flaws and all.

Rad-Reader:  Why did Rene dislike Jade so much?

Amie:  She’s possessive :D

Rad-Reader:  Why didn’t Rowdy tell Jade the truth about his family?

Amie:  By his family, I’m guessing you mean his mom, dad, and sister Charlene. By and large, men are not taught to talk about their feelings. When you add into that what Rowdy’s childhood must have been like…shame breeds silence.

Rad-Reader:  What made Charlene break the law?

Amie:  Honestly, I have no clue. I guess we have to find out when she comes back to town :D

Rad-Reader:  At the end Jade seemed to own her body or was she just doing what Rowdy wanted?  Because he had her sit on his lap a lot.  I been married 35+ years and lost over 100+ pounds and still feel uncomfortable sitting on hubby's lap.

Amie:  More than just owning her body, she’d begun to own who she was as a person, and accept that she didn’t’ have to be all the things her mother wanted her to be. Shedding parental expectation (real or imagined) is tough. Jade recognized that she wasn’t the country club debutante type and was okay with that. She even told her father that she was happy her own daughters probably wouldn’t be debutantes!

Rad-Reader:  What song out now best describes/reminds you of your books about?

Rad-Reader:  I Can't Help Falling in Love with You

                        Andrea Bocelli & Katharine Mcphee

Amie:  Wow we could be here all day. Current songs? Drink a Beer by Luke Bryan, Like a Wrecking Ball by Eric Church (this one makes me think of Ty and Betti), Unbreakable and Better Than You Left Me by Micky Guyton—especially Unbreakable which fits both Jade and Jessa so well. Lee Brice’s I Don’t Dance, Runnin’ Out of Moonlight by Randy Houser really feels like a Rowdy song :D … Say You Love Me by Jessie Ware (this feels like a Tim and Toni song!), & Night Train by Jason Aldean
(Funny sidenote: Jessa’s brother Jason—I named him way back in 2004 when I first came up with the idea for the series and his middle name is Alden :D).

Rad-Reader:   Why did Jade’s dad wait so long to defend her?

Amie:  I think this was partly due to the fact she’d been gone so long. Also, because we’re both parents, you know that sometimes you just have to let your kids find their own way. It’s hard to watch them fall down, but that’s how they learn.

Rad-Reader:  If your book was made into a movie who would you have play:

Amie:  WOW! I love your choices!!

Jade:  I think I’m going to stick with your choice here or

Susie: Go with yours...

Rad-Reader:  What is your next project?  When will it be coming out?

Amie:  Even Cowboys Get the Blues will be out in June. I’ve suffered some health issues that have set me back. IF I can get it out sooner, I definitely will but I’d rather surprise people with an early release than make them wait and let them down.

Rad-Reader:  What do you like to do with you down time?

Amie:  I watch a lot of TV and of course, read!

Rad-Reader:  What is the best advice you could give a young writer?

Amie:  Keep reading, keep writing. Learning to write is like learning any other skill. It takes lots and lots of practice!

Rad-Reader:  Where can our readers buy your books?

Amie:  From all e-vendors!
