HUBBY'S REVIEW:
This was a fast paced and excellent story of a Texas Ranger who because of the death of his wife and an incident that happened almost five years ago is now fighting for custody of his five year old daughter who has been with her grandparents, but sees her father often. He even moved to the town they live in and took a desk job. During the hiring a man comes in while he is on the stand giving testimony to the Judge. After the second shot kills the bailiff he jumps on top of the judge to protect her and then goes after the gunman once he leaves the courtroom. Thinking that the gunman is killed he is questioned by a local officer who does not like him since high school when he went out with his sister. But they later find out that the person killed was not the gunman so that puts the judge back in harm’s way. Maybe or maybe it has something to do with his past you won’t know until you get close to the end. There is also a chemistry between him and the female judge and they both try and deny it but they finally give in only to have think they cannot be together. A very good book with many different storylines and different characters, but a very exciting story. Liked it very much. I got this book from netgalley. I give this 5 stars.
