A Twilight, Texas Novella
Valentine's Day can be a real disaster … even in a town like Twilight, Texas!
These days, event planner Sesty Snow is no fan of hearts, flowers, or goo-goo eyes over dinner. She's learned to be in control of her life and her emotions. Still, running Twilight's annual Valentine's Day bachelor auction is right up her alley—until her high school sweetheart zooms back into town. He's still heart-stoppingly handsome, but it's clear he hasn't changed the daredevil ways that put the brakes on their first love.
Injured NASCAR driver Josh Langtree isn't up for being anyone's sweetheart these days either. He's just looking for a place to lick his wounds … until a misunderstanding lands him doing community service in Sesty's auction. Soon he finds himself standing in front of hundreds of screaming women—wearing a tux and a smile. And then there's Sesty—looking as tempting as ever.
He says he's changed, and the sparks between them are flying fast and furious, but can Sesty trust Josh to take the wheel and drive her into the future she never dreamed possible?
MY REVIEW:
Valentine’s Day calls to every young
unmarried woman’s heart, I don’t care what they tell you. Even if they have been dumped like Sesty Snow
was by Chad the Cad. Even with all that
she proved my case because all she could think about was her first
everything. Her first kiss, first love,
and first sexual love making experience.
No one ever forgets the first one especially if it is great! And Josh Langtree was the best. Or so Sesty thought.
Of course she would never admit that to
anyone but especially him if ever asked.
Now she only had two other partners to compare him to but hands down he
had them beat. It was like he was fully
engaged just like his driving. She just
couldn’t live with the constant fear of him crashing and him not coming home to
her let alone if they ever had a family.
Josh on the other hand was in it back then
for the whole race so to speak. He was
madly and truly in love with Sesty and was crushed when she dumped him. Now he has been dumped again and like Sesty
it doesn’t seem to bother him either.
The gleam in both of their eyes tells the
whole story of the fact that the love never died but the fear is putting up
block walls to keep each of their hearts safe.
But is Sesty finally ready to be fearless and not worry what her parents
think? Reaching out to Josh and that
brass ring for happiness?
Is Josh ready to be fearless in a
different way by stepping away from the race track and finding out what real
life has to offer? Become a more rounded
person allowing and opening his heart and making room for Sesty in there to see
if they can love again without hurting each other?
He made it okay in the past to take risk
and be different, to enjoy the ride and be happy doing. She showed him that buckling down and setting
his mind to something he could achieve it, that his learning disability of
dyslexia didn’t have to hold him back.
It just didn’t make the dream of college that most teens had his
dream. Yet, it didn’t mean he wasn’t
smart far from it he was that and sexy too.
And he was back in Twilight to recuperate
after his wreck. But got in a little
trouble and is assigned 40 hours community service to be serve with Sesty,
working on the bachelor auction. So let
the fun begin.
This is just one of those stories of when
love is right it’s right. It may happen
to soon but there is nothing that says you can’t set it free and if it’s meant
to be it won’t ignite again with an even brighter flame than before. Especially, when it started out as a first
love as it did for Josh and Sesty. Life’s
experiences gave them the tools they needed to see what a gift their love was
and how to honor it. Sweet, sweet
story. I gave it 5 stars. Provided by the author for and honest
